Church Library

The First Pres Library, currently located in the Session House, has a collection of more than 1,250 volumes in a surprisingly wide range of subjects — Christian living, theology, Bible commentary, apologetics, Christian fiction. Many books include supplementary materials for Adult Christian Education classes. The white notebook in the library lists books by title (and gives you an identifying number for each book). Click the link near the bottom of this page to download a copy of the book list in PDF format.

The library staff encourages First Pres members to borrow books. The library is available for your use whenever the Session House is open. The honor-system-based process is simple: fill out the book card you’ll find in every book, and drop it in the borrower’s basket. To return a book, just place it in the basket.

In many ways, our library is an act of faith — faith that we and future members of our congregation will use our library not only for pleasure but for acquiring knowledge and personal reflection and prayer.

You’ll find librarian volunteers in the library on Monday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon. They are usually also available on Sunday mornings. If you have suggestions for new books, contact Pat Whitaker (626-2330), Librarian, or Julie Geiger, Associate Librarian.
