Our major music opportunities are listed below on this page. All choirs are directed by Pat Rowlett and Susan Mabie, with the assistance of Vance Harper Jones, Dru Wilkins, and Maggie Wright. New choir members are always welcome. Please contact Pat Rowlett or Susan Mabie if you are interested.
But music at First Pres means more than choral singing. Our congregation is blessed with many talented members and friends, who serve as instrumentalists in the music of our worship services: violin, cello, string bass, trumpet, flute, guitar, hammer dulcimer, bagpipe, and percussion. First Pres has many Orff instruments, given by memorial gifts and other gifts in honor of the staff. These instruments are used weekly in rehearsals, and often in worship services. Approximately 150 volunteers participate in our different choirs (see below) giving freely of their time and talent to the glory of God. The staff and congregation greatly appreciate these gifts and the spirit of love with which they are given.
First Pres also sponsors concerts each year, using both the Sanctuary and Fellowship Center as venues. These have featured local and nationally known performers, including organists, pianists, singing groups, and instrumentalists.
