April Lunch Wagon
Our next outing will be to Scotland Neck for a repeat of 2013’s very informative visit to the Sylvan Heights Bird Park. On Friday, April 24th, we’ll convene at the church parking lot at 9AM for a prompt 9:15AM departure. Lunch will be at Tarboro’s On the Square Restaurant. We will plan on being at the Bird Sanctuary around 1PM. A mobile cart will be available for those not able to walk the short distances through the park. A Park Guide will provide a narrative on the birds being viewed. An amazing array of winged creatures from all over the world awaits our visit! Return to New Bern should be around 5:45PM. A token donation of $5 per person is requested to cover transportation costs; the lunch menu runs in the $8-12 range, and senior admission price to the park is $11. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a “safari-on-the-wing”! Call 637-3270 to reserve your seat oYour Lunch Wagon Committee has been busy making
• May Lunch Wagon
Join the Lunch Wagon Bunch on Friday May 15th as we travel to Beaufort and take the Double Decker Bus Tour of the historical sites of Beaufort. We will meet in the church parking lot and leave at 9:15. The tour costs $10.00 per person. We will have a guided tour of the beautiful homes and sights of Beaufort. After our tour, we have lunch reservations at the Stillwater Grill on Front Street. However, you can choose to eat at another restaurant since we are going to have a “Free Choice” afternoon. You can choose your restaurant for lunch as there are several good restaurants within walking distance and use the rest of the afternoon to visit the NC Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, ride the Mullet Line Trolley (costs $1.00 for a 20 min. ride around Beaufort with numerous stops along the way), people watching or go shopping. We will meet back at the bus at 3:30, which will be parked at the Maritime Museum. We will return to New Bern by 4:30ish. Call the church office at 637-3270 to reserve your seat on the bus for a fun day in Beaufort.
