Every fall a box goes off from our church to help bring warmth and comfort to children in Appalachia. We work through a national program called TLC (Tender Loving Care). It gets cold down in “them thar hollows,” and, although the countryside looks so clean and picturesque as we drive through in our comfortable cars, it is hard to imagine there are people living in poverty in the area. Maybe their car is their home!
Last fall, Knit for Others, filled the gift box with 48 caps, 27 scarves, and 51 pairs of mittens. With them went our prayers for a warmer winter for these children in God’s family.
