First Presbyterian Church Choirs​

The choirs at First Presbyterian Church are a vibrant and essential part of worship. With their harmonious voices, they lead the congregation in heartfelt praise and help create a meaningful and uplifting worship experience each Sunday.

All rehearsals take place in the Ministry Center Room 2.08

Daybreak Choir

Open to Sr. high youth and adults for the 8:30 am Worship service

Sanctuary Choir

Open to Sr. high youth and adults for the 11:00 am Worship service

The Daybreak & Sanctuary Choirs rehearse together Thursdays 5:15 pm - 6:15 pm


The Daybreak and Sanctuary Choirs sing for Sunday Services (they take a break once a month when the Resurrection Singers are leading worship). Many members sing in both choirs. They also sing for special worship services.

Resurrection Singers

For both youth and adults, The Resurrection Singers lead worship one Sunday each month, offering newly composed Christian music and old favorites. The Resurrection Singers are led by Susan Mabie.  

The Sunday before the Resurrection Singers lead worship, they rehearse on Thursday from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

Confirmation Choir

6th – 12th grades

The Confirmation Choir sings for special services such as Youth Sunday and at Christmas. Rehearsals will be held in the fall of 2024 after Labor Day, time to be announced.

Covenant Choir

K- 5 grades

Rehearsals are Monday from 3:45 pm  - 5:00 pm

A comprehensive, age-based musical experience, utilizing hand-chimes, and Orff instruments. Members are introduced to rhythms, intervals, and how to read musical symbols, intervals and rhythms. The choir sings at worship services throughout the year and performs at Spring Ring and Children’s Sabbath.

Preschool Choir

Ages 3-4

Rehearsals are Wednesday  from 11:45 am - 12:15 pm

An informal educational experience for young singers, using games, play activities, songs and rhythms to introduce musical concepts.

Sanctuary Bells (Handbell Choir)

Adults

Rehearsals Sundays at 3:00 pm

Advanced handbell choir, playing 5+ octaves of Schulmerich Handbells, and 5 octaves of Malmark Handchimes. Activities include participation in worship services, December special services, and Spring Ring.
